IEL GraduateThe Adult Education Center (AEC), is the headquarters for the Adult Basic Education Division (ABE) of the Institute for Extended Learning (IEL).
The AEC, located at 2310 N. Monroe St; Spokane, Washington is one of 23 sites in the Community Colleges of Spokane's six-county service area, where ABE classes are offered (in addition to Spokane county there are services in Ferry, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Lincoln, and Whitman) Other community sites include churches, public schools and special institutions throughout the district.

The ABE program provides a wide range of educational opportunities on a continuous enrollment basis, days and evenings, four quarters a year. This programming includes a number of wide ranged classes designed to meet the employment and pre-college educational needs of adults 19 years or older regardless of previous educational background or ability.
Courses are individualized to better serve the special needs of each student.
