Students are selected based on the following criteria as established by industry hiring practices and the National Credentialing Agency of Laboratory Personnel (NCAALS):
High school diploma or equivalent degree
Additional qualifications considered in the screening process, including professional appearance, communication skills, emotional stability, and ability to relate to a wide variety of people representing a broad physical, physiological and socioeconomic spectrum.
Ability to lift 20 pounds for extended periods of time
Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and color reactions
Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time and to bend over beds
Successful passage of a criminal background check and drug screen prior to admission
Attendance at the mandatory information session
Enrolled students:
All enrolled students must participate in a criminal background check and drug screening, and are required to have a current TB health card in their possession.
